What are Graphs Used For?
Graphs and charts are used to present data and facts in visual form. A graph is an easy way to compare numbers because it displays the relative sizes of numerical quantities.
3 Skills for Constructing a Graph
- Label the x-axis with the independent (manipulated) variable and the y-axis with the dependent (responding) variable.
- Determine an interval scale for each axis that is appropriate for the data to be graphed.
- Plot the data pairs as data points on the graph.

Pie Chart
Pie charts do now show patterns in change. They are best used when we want to show parts of a whole.
